Wire-wrapped Prehistoric Gembone

This Gembone cabochon was wrapped in silver plated copper Parawire with a weaved designed bail.  Pendant hangs from a 20″ brown suede cord.

Gembone is highly petrified dinosaur bone where the original organic bone cells were entirely replaced over millions of years by translucent agate, chalcedony, or quartz crystals. The distinctive, fine honeycomb webbing cell structure is beautifully preserved in this stone, making it a highly valuable collector’s gem.

Unlike standard jaspers or agates, gembone is a finite prehistoric gemstone. It’s like wearing an actual, polished piece of dinosaur bone from the Jurassic era!!
